Company (Renault) for the auto industry plans to cover the solar energy plants

Announced that French carmaker Renault's intention to cover the six factories in France with solar panels, which leads to the production of a quantity of electricity, enough to cover the needs of the city with 15 thousand people.



 

The company said in a statement it hopes to reduce carbon emissions resulting from the operation of its plants in France by 30 thousand tons per year through the use of energy generated by solar panels that will be installed on the roofs of their factories.




 

The total area of solar panels to be installed to 450 thousand square meters and will begin implementation of the plan mid-June that the installation is completed in February 2012. It is expected the arrival of the production of these panels to 60 megawatts of electricity annually, equivalent to consumption of a small town. The announcement of this step, one day after the announcement by the International Energy Agency, based in Paris and the arrival of carbon emissions last year to its highest level in history.


 

  The cars and trucks, one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions to global warming.
